Hemkund Sahib Trek

After breakfast, take a short drive from Govindghat to Pulna, the last motorable point on the route. From Pulna, begin the trek to Ghangaria, a beautiful Himalayan hamlet nestled amidst towering mountains and lush forests. The 9 km trail follows the Lakshman Ganga River and passes through picturesque landscapes, cascading waterfalls, wooden bridges, and small tea stalls along the way. The gradual ascent offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and peaks. After approximately 7–8 hours of trekking, arrive at Ghangaria. Check in to your accommodation and spend the evening exploring the peaceful surroundings. Overnight stay at Ghangaria.

Start early in the morning for the trek to Hemkund Sahib, one of the highest Sikh pilgrimage sites in the world. The trail is steep and challenging but rewards trekkers with magnificent views of alpine meadows, rugged mountain terrain, and snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Upon reaching Hemkund Sahib, situated beside a pristine glacial lake, spend time soaking in the serene atmosphere and spiritual significance of this sacred site. Visitors can explore the Gurudwara, enjoy the tranquil surroundings, and admire the reflection of the mountains in the crystal-clear waters of the lake. After spending quality time at the summit, begin the descent back to Ghangaria. Overnight stay at Ghangaria.

After breakfast, begin the descent from Ghangaria to Pulna, retracing the scenic trail through forests, waterfalls, and mountain landscapes. Upon reaching Pulna, drive to Govindghat and continue the return journey to Rishikesh. The drive offers one final opportunity to enjoy the spectacular beauty of the Garhwal Himalayas, river valleys, and charming mountain settlements. Arrive in Rishikesh by evening with unforgettable memories of the sacred Hemkund Sahib trek and the breathtaking Himalayan wilderness.
