Valley of Flowers Trek near Rishikesh

After breakfast, drive from Pipalkoti (1,340 m / 4,400 ft) to Govindghat (1,828 m / 6,000 ft), a scenic journey of approximately 52 km taking around 2 hours. From Govindghat, continue by vehicle to Pulna (2,100 m / 6,900 ft), covering 4 km in about 15–20 minutes. The trek to Ghangharia (3,000 m / 9,800 ft) begins from Pulna and follows a well-defined trail along the beautiful Lakshman Ganga River. The 9 km trek takes around 3–4 hours and passes through lush forests, waterfalls, and picturesque mountain landscapes. With a total altitude gain of 1,660 m (5,400 ft), the day offers a rewarding blend of driving and trekking. Upon reaching Ghangharia, check in to your accommodation and enjoy an overnight stay amidst the serene Himalayan surroundings.

The trail covers approximately 4 km each way and takes around 7 hours for the complete excursion. As you gain an altitude of 500 m (1,700 ft), you'll be rewarded with breathtaking views of alpine meadows carpeted with vibrant wildflowers. The valley is home to a rich variety of Himalayan flora, including Blue Poppy, Snake Foil, White Leaf Hog Foot, Himalayan Rose, Meadow Geranium, Dog Flower, Hooked Stick Seed, and River Anemone. Spend time exploring this UNESCO World Heritage Site, soaking in its natural beauty and serenity before returning to Ghangharia for an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, embark on a challenging yet rewarding trek from Ghangharia (3,000 m / 9,800 ft) to the sacred Hemkund Sahib (4,300 m / 14,100 ft). Covering a distance of 6 km each way, the trek takes approximately 8–9 hours and involves a significant altitude gain of 1,300 m (4,300 ft). The steep trail offers spectacular views of snow-capped peaks, alpine landscapes, and pristine mountain surroundings. Upon reaching Hemkund Sahib, one of the highest Sikh pilgrimage sites in the world, spend time exploring the serene glacial lake and the revered gurudwara. After enjoying the spiritual and natural beauty of the area, trek back to Ghangharia for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, begin the descent from Ghangharia (3,000 m / 9,800 ft) to Pulna, covering 9 km in approximately 4–5 hours. From Pulna, take a short 15-minute drive to Govindghat (1,828 m / 6,000 ft). En route, enjoy a complimentary visit to Badrinath (3,133 m / 10,279 ft), one of the most revered pilgrimage destinations in the Himalayas. The 25 km drive from Govindghat to Badrinath takes around 1 hour and offers spectacular mountain views. After exploring the sacred temple and its surroundings, continue the journey to Pipalkoti (1,340 m / 4,400 ft), covering 75 km in approximately 3–4 hours. The day includes an altitude loss of 1,660 m (5,400 ft) from Ghangharia to Pipalkoti and an altitude gain of 1,305 m (4,279 ft) during the Badrinath excursion. Upon arrival in Pipalkoti, check in to your accommodation and relax for the night.

After breakfast, begin the return journey from Pipalkoti (1,340 m / 4,400 ft) to Rishikesh (372 m / 1,220 ft). Covering a distance of approximately 200 km in 9–10 hours, the drive takes you through scenic Himalayan landscapes, charming hill towns, and along the beautiful Alaknanda and Ganga river valleys. With an altitude loss of 968 m (3,180 ft), the journey offers a final opportunity to soak in the breathtaking mountain views. Upon arrival in Rishikesh, the memorable Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib adventure comes to an end.
